Guys Group and Voices & Choices

The Leelanau Family Court offers multiple avenues for group involvement to youth whether involved in the court or from the community. Group and experiential activities are beneficial in promoting positive peer interaction and pro-social behavior.

G2 (Guys Group): A voluntary experiential group that meets weekly during the summer and monthly during the school year. With a focus on substance abuse prevention G2 provides youth with opportunities to engage with peers and adult mentors. Experiential activities may include kayaking, biking, hiking, snow-shoeing, and more.

Voices and Choices: A voluntary experiential group that meets weekly during the summer and monthly during the school year. Activities focus on building self-efficacy, pro-social modeling, and positive interactions with adult mentors. Experiential activities may include kayaking, biking, hiking, horseback riding, and art therapy.

School based groups: Leelanau Family Court staff also engage youth in school-based groups as invited by area districts. Groups have included internet safety, substance abuse prevention, and promotion of positive peer interactions.
