The Leelanau Township Short-Term Rental Ordinance, as-adopted, bases the allowable occupancy of a short-term rental on the number of bedrooms approved on a Health Department permit or approval, or Building Permit, with a maximum occupancy of 15 guests over 5 years of age.

This requirement is intended to prevent over-occupancy of short-term rentals and over-use of the short-term rental septic systems.
