FREE Contractor's Training March 10 for Rehabilitation Housing Program

A FREE Training Session will be hosted by Leelanau County for contractors interested in working on homeowner rehabilitation projects through the County Housing Program.  This program offers loans at 0% interest to homeowners who are at or below 80% Area Median Income (AMI), and affordable loan terms.

• This session will explain how contractors are approved to work with the housing
rehabilitation program.
• Contractors must be licensed and insured to work on projects for the housing program.
• A review of the program, Section 3 requirements, contractor requirements, and a
Question/Answer period will be held with staff from Construction Codes, and Planning and Community Development.
• Contractors attending will receive informational packets, and forms to be added to the bidders list. Applications for homeowner’s interested in applying for assistance under this
program will also be available.
• Leelanau County expects to complete 15-25 rehabilitation projects over the next two (2) years with projects up to a maximum of $40,000.

All contractors welcome (general contractors, excavating, well drilling, plumbing, electrical,
heating/cooling, building). Women and minority contractors, as well as those who work with
minority subcontractors, are encouraged to attend.
