NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Leelanau County Board of Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on the termination of the West Bay/West Shore Brownfield Plan, Elmwood Township, Leelanau County, Michigan. The Public Hearing will be held on October 8, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. in the Board of Commissioners Meeting Room, Leelanau County Government Center, 8527 E. Government Center Dr., Suttons Bay, MI 49682.

The Leelanau County Administrator’s Office is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time (40 hours per week) Facilities Director under the general supervision of the County Administrator.


This non-union, at-will position has full County benefits per policy, including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision insurance and a MERS pension plan. The salary compensation range is $82,628.83-$90,465.75. The Leelanau Conservation District is hiring a Technician to carry out the Michigan Agricultural Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP). The MAEAP Technician is responsible for delivering on-farm technical assistance in Leelanau and Benzie Counties. Technical assistance includes conducting farm-specific risk assessments; coordinating local, state, and federal agency resources to help farmers reduce environmental risks; and assisting farmers in making progress toward MAEAP verification, which recognizes farms as top environmental stewards. The MAEAP Technician is also responsible for collaborating with Conservation District staff to promote MAEAP and educate diverse audiences on the importance of sustainable agriculture in counties of coverage.
