The Leelanau County Board of Commissioners is seeking qualified and interested citizens to participate as members to the following Boards:

Construction Board of Appeals: 2 members sought in 4 possible categories, including Architect, Building, Electrical and Plumbing/Mechanical

Energy Futures Task Force: 12 members sought in 5 possible categories, including County energy providers, community organizations, businesses, agribusinesses and interested residents

Materials Management Plan Committee: 11 total potential members with representatives from the planning area in the following categories - Solid Waste Disposal Facility Operator; Hauler; Materials Recovery Facility Operator; Composting/Anaerobic Digester Operator; Waste Diversion/Reuse/Reduction Facility Operator; Environmental Interest Group; an Elected Official from the County, Townships, and Villages; Managed Materials Business; and Regional Planning Agency

The Leelanau County Board of Commissioners is committed to seeking qualified and interested citizens to participate in public service through appointment to various Boards/Commissions/Committees/ Authorities.  To be considered for an appointment, a citizen must be a resident of Leelanau County, a registered voter of Leelanau County, and must have an application on file with the Administrator’s Office.

Current Board openings include:

  • Workforce Development Board

The Department of Health and Human Services (application is located below) and Workforce Development Boards require application directly to those agencies. Additionally, the Workforce Development Board requires that all applicants must be county-based employers.
