Little Free Libraries now in Bingham Township

The Friends of the Suttons Bay Bingham District Library have installed Little Free Libraries in Bingham Township at the following locations:

  • Bingham Township Hall, 7171 S. Center Highway, Traverse City, MI  49682.
  • Shady Lane Market, 5981 S. West Bayshore Drive (M-22), Suttons Bay, MI  49682.

These locations will be listed on the Little Free Libraries world map.

The Little Free Libraries are re-filled frequently, and if you take a book during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is yours to keep. Please do not return any books at this time, or add personal books to the collection.

2K Farms Winery & Cidery Special Events Public Hearing

The Bingham Township Planning Commission conducted a Public Hearing on an Application to amend the 2K Farms Special Use Permit to allow Special Events & Activities at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bingham Township Hall, 7171 S. Center Highway, Traverse City, MI  49684.

The Public Hearing was scheduled to be continued at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2020, however, the State of Michigan Executive Order prevents public gatherings at this time. Therefore, the Public Hearing will be continued no earlier than 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2020, and is dependent on the State of Michigan Stay At Home Executive Order.

2K Farms Public Notice and Application


At their October 21, 2019 Township Board Meeting, the Bingham Township Board conducted a Public Hearing on a proposed ordinance to regulate Short-Term Rentals in Bingham Township. There was no decision made at this Hearing.

Further discussion will be held at a later date. The Board is forming a committee of Board Members to review the draft ordinance and comments received from the public, and make a recommendation back to the full Board.

Due to recent Emergency Executive Orders that affect public meetings, there will not be further discussion at the Board level until a later date to be determined.

  • identify forest diseases and insects and their control options
  • advise on the selection and planting of trees and shrubs to meet your needs
  • inform you on the forestry property tax incentive programs
  • offer recommendations for improving woodlots
